The onset of the festive season has still not brought much cheer to Bajaj Auto as the Pune-based motorcycles maker has seen its total sales during September dip by 4% to 3.84 lakh units against 3.99 lakh units in the same month of last year.
Sales of motorcycles at a little over 3.30 lakh units registered a decrease of 5% year on year. Commercial vehicles however posted a growth of 3% to 54,172 units while total exports remained flat at around 1.74 lakh units.
On a year to date basis (April-Sept), total sales rose by 1% to 20.69 lakh (20.44 lakh units), motorcycle sales remained flat at 17.78 lakh units (versus 17.74 lakh units), while CV sales rose by 8% to 2.91 lakh units.
