TVS Motor Company today reported 22.78 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 116.41 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 94.81 crore during the July—September quarter of the previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company, on a standalone basis, was up 7.99 per cent to Rs 2,880.72 crore during the period under review as against Rs 2,667.44 crore of the same period last fiscal.
Total sales were up 0.38 per cent to 6,78,718 units during the second quarter of FY16 as against 6,76,139 units of the same period last fiscal.
Scooter sales were up 12 per cent during the quarter to 2.18 lakh units as against 1.95 lakh units of second quarter of FY15.
However, motorcycle sales had a flat growth with 2.55 lakh units during the quarter.
Exports during the second quarter were up 23 per cent to 1.27 lakh units as against 1.03 lakh units.
TVS Motors’ standalone net profit for the first half of 2015—16 was up 23.66 per cent to Rs 206.68 crore as against Rs 167.13 crore a year ago.
Its total income during the first half of the current fiscal was at Rs 5,488.90 crore, up 10.67 per cent, from Rs 4,959.65 crore a year ago.
