Insecticides (India) Ltd (IIL) recorded a net profit of Rs. 19.8 crore for the quarter that ended in June, a 13.8 per cent increase over the Rs. 17.4 crore registered in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
According to an official statement released on Thursday, the company reported a net income of Rs. 285.4 crore for the first quarter of the 2015-16 financial, up 13.1 per cent from Rs. 252.39 crore reported over the same period last fiscal.
The earnings per share rose to Rs. 10.41 as against Rs. 9.15 during the same quarter last year, the statement said.
“The month of June recorded decent rainfall and this automatically boosted the sentiment of the trade and the farmers, especially in northern India. The figures are encouraging and clearly indicate continued growth of the market for our products,” Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, IIL.
