Bosch opens 14th manufacturing unit in India

Bosch, a supplier of technology and services, today inaugurated its 14th manufacturing facility in India at Bidadi near Bengaluru.

The facility will be part of Bosch Ltd, the flagship company of Bosch in India.

The manufacturing facility, which has a built-up area of around 38,000 sq.m., has scope for further expansion. It has come up with an investment of over Rs. 340 crore (around €45 million).

The new plant will implement industry 4.0 version to optimise the manufacturing processes and will manufacture products for the diesel systems division.

This investment underlines the importance of India for the Bosch Group. “India is a key pillar of our growth strategy in Asia-Pacific. A strong local presence is the basis for further growth in the region,” said Peter Tyroller, member of the board of management of the Bosch Group responsible for Asia-Pacific.

“Bosch is on track to double sales in Asia-Pacific by 2020,” said Tyroller, referring to the target the company had set itself in 2014.

Participating in the inauguration Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “We have also initiated various reforms in Government approval processes, including online approvals, in order to improve ease of doing business in our State.”

He went on to say: “I would also like to assure the industrial community that we are keen to set right whatever concerns industry has in doing business in our State and we would appreciate it if the concerns are brought directly to my notice so that we can take appropriate action.”

Wishing Bosch on its new plant, he said “Let the business of Bosch grow exponentially in the near future so that they can employ more people, besides relocating the existing manpower from Bengaluru.”
