The Government had allotted 14 power transmission schemes worth Rs.33,900 crore for bidding

The Government had allotted 14 power transmission schemes worth Rs.33,900 crore for bidding during 2014-15, a statement from the Power Ministry said on Wednesday.

Of these, nine schemes were allotted in July 2014, and the remaining in February 2015.

"All these projects were allocated to the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC), namely RECTPCL and PFCCL, for carrying out bidding under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. The bid process is underway by both the BPCs," the statement said.

These transmission schemes include 765 kV and 400 kV transmission system strengthening schemes in the Northern, Western, Southern, and North-Eastern Regions, and would facilitate transfer of power from new hydroelectric projects in Bhutan and generation-linked projects in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
