Star Health Insurance launches new version of comprehensive insurance

Star Health and Allied Insurance has today launched their revised Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy. This policy is an improved version of their existing policy with the following additional benefits without any increase in premium.  

This policy covers bariatric surgery and expenses incurred on hospitalisation for bariatric surgical procedure and its complications thereof are payable subject to a maximum of Rs 2,50,000 during the policy period. Further, air ambulance expenses are covered up to 10 per cent of the sum insured per policy period. This is applicable for sum insured of Rs 7.50 lakhs and above.

Further, the insured person is given the facility of obtaining a second medical opinion from a specialist in the company’s network of medical practitioners. The entire process is in electronic mode. Expenses on medical consultation as an Out Patient incurred in network hospitals are covered (for other than dental and ophthalmic)  at Rs 300 per consultation and ranging from Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,300 in the policy period.

Coverage of medical treatment for a period exceeding three days for an illness/disease/injury  which in the normal course, would require care and treatment at a hospital is also provided. This policy also provides personal accident cover against death and permanent total disablement.
