FIIs raise stake in Hero Motocorp in Q4 to 40.77%

Hero MotoCorp is the World's single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have increased their stake in Hero Motocorp by 143 basis points to 40.77 percent at the end of March 2015 quarter from 39.34 percent as on December 31, 2014. Moreover, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have raised shareholding in the company by 346 basis points to 10.89 percent at the end of March 2015 quarter from 7.43 percent as on December 31, 2014.

Further, non institutions were having 13.7 percent stake at the end of March 2015 quarter, up 39 basis points from 13.31 percent as on December 31, 2014 and corporate bodies were holding 1.76 percent stake at the end of March 2015 quarter, down 2 basis points from 1.78 percent as on December 31, 2014.
