Singapore's consumer prices dropped more-than-expected in February, figures from Statistics Singapore showed Monday.
The consumer price index decreased 0.3 percent year-over-year in February, exceeding economists' expectations for a 0.2 percent decline. In January prices had fallen 0.4 percent.
This marked the fourth consecutive month of decline in prices.
Transport costs fell 3.7 percent in February from the previous year and housing and utility costs dipped by 2.6 percent. Meanwhile, food prices grew 2.5 percent.
Core consumer prices which excludes the cost of accommodation and private road transport, climbed 1.3 percent annually in February.
Month-on-month, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent in February, in contrast to a 0.2 percent fall in the preceding month
